![]() Recovering excel for mac. 4 years ago, working on an Intel Mac, I created a series of Excel files using VMWare Fusion to create a virtual PC, Windows Vista Ultimate, and Excel 2007. The files are full of special macros created using Visual Basic for Applications and the Visual Basic editor found in Excel. Because the macros are so specialized and proprietary, I pass-worded access to all of the Visual Basic. By default, excelhelp.msp automatically replaces the current EXCEL.DEV.HXS and EXCEL.HXS file in the Program Files Office12 1033 directory on the drive where you installed the 2007 Office System. If you installed the 2007 Office System in a different directory, you can locate the files in the 1033 directory, a subdirectory of the Program Files Office12 folder. Sep 9, 2017 - If you use Microsoft Excel on your Mac, you can save the spreadsheets you create and open them in Numbers, Apple's spreadsheet app. Shortly after I completed the project, my hard drive crashed. I use Time Machine, so everything on the Mac side was easily restored, and I have a gazillion copies of the Windows files. Now my trial version of Office for Windows has expired, and for some reason I can't get VMWare Fusion to work to get Vista reloaded again. Boot Camp either. Office 2011 for the Mac has restored all of the Visual Basic capability that Microsoft removed in version 2008. So now when I open my Windows files on my Mac, I get two problems. One: some of the message boxes I made, which were fine when I looked at them in Windows, have text that is so small and ragged that it is almost unreadable; other message boxes are fine, and look just like they did before. Two: when I try to access the Visual Basic editor, it asks me for a password, which i expected it to do. I KNOW the password, as I kept it in several locations, and I KNOW I am entering it correctly, upper case/lower case, yadda yadda yadda. But I still get a message that I am entering an invalid password. I'm getting very frustrated, and I'm considering buying a used Windows laptop. Can anybody help with this? The updates can't be used to enhance the free trial of Microsoft Office. Before the updater can proceed it looks for a properly activated version of Microsoft Office to upgrade, Since you don't have the required software, you get the explaining why the update can not be installed. You will be able to install the upgrades once you activate your Microsoft Office suite using a valid product activation key. I am an unpaid volunteer and do not work for Microsoft.
